Female passenger punches cabin crew

A British woman was kicked off a plane full of British holidaymakers after drunkenly attacking cabin crew at 35,000 ft over the Atlantic Ocean, and punching an air steward in the face. The woman was thought to have been drinking from her secret stash of alcohol on the Thomson Airways flight from Manchester to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

After ____ and ____ out the cabin crew, the 45-year-old woman had to be handcuffed to her seat, and the Boeing 767-300 was diverted to Bermuda so that she could be dealt with local police.

She was kicked off the plane and the flight, which had 260 passengers on board, eventually reached its Caribbean destination 28 hours later than scheduled.

Thompson Airways operates a zero tolerance policy with regards to any disruptive behaviour onboard its flight.

There really is not a hard and true method of avoiding delays at an airport. It is important to take this into consideration when planning on how long it will take to check your luggage, get your boarding pass, clear security, and find your gate. However, one way to minimize delays is to pack correctly. When in doubt, always call the airport ahead of time. The list of banned items is constantly changing. Carry-on luggage generally presents the most problems. Make sure you only have two bags per passenger. Among the many things that you cannot bring onboard a plane are hammers, screwdrivers, scissors, guns, and pepper spray.

Be ready for a random search regardless of how
carefully you have packed. The most common items that are confiscated are scissors, pocketknives, and mace. Security will not reimburse you for confiscated items.

formula: one couple, one child. After the birth of an imperfect baby – be it clubfooted, mentally handicapped or a girl instead of the longed-for healthy male heir – some Chinese families have chosen to forsake the infant in order to try again. Declared stillborn as a legal ruse, many of these unwanted infants are then left in alleyways, railroad stations and bus terminals. Which airliner can fly twice as fast as a pistol bullet?

In February 1988 the supersonic airliner Concorde flew from New York to London in a shade under three hours.
To do that, it had to fly at twice the speed of sound.
Unless you have flown the Atlantic in slower aircraft,
statistics like these do not really show you how dramatic Concorde’s speed is. One example that does help is comparing it with a pistol bullet. The fastest bullets travel at about 1100 kilometres per hour. If you _____ someone target shooting with a pistol, you _____ how quick that is. However, if you fired a pistol after a Concorde when it was travelling flat out with its crew and 128 passengers on board, Concorde would fly away from the bullet. Reaching a speed of 2333 kilometres per hour, Concorde would leave a pistol bullet standing.

The future of English
