A EEAR – especialmente para Especialistas, Aeronavegantes e Não-Navegantes – AMA:
✔️ 1) Condicionais implícitas
Frases sem “if” que funcionam como condicional — pegadinha clássica.
✔️ 2) Vocabulário técnico + conditional
Ex.: radar, panel, aircraft, checklist, procedure, shutdown, overload
Eles adoram misturar gramática com contexto aeronáutico.
✔️ 3) Inversões formais (Should / Were / Had)
É um dos queridinhos da banca porque:

✔️ 4) Diferença entre if, unless, in case, as long as, even if
EEAR cobra fine distinctions — aquele detalhe que muda tudo.
✔️ 5) Mixed conditionals
Mistura passado + presente ou passado + futuro.
Quase sempre aparece como pegadinha fina.

1) Zero x First Conditional disfarçado
Exemplo:
If the engine overheats, the system shuts down automatically.
Pegadinha: aluno marca futuro (will shut down) achando que todo “if” leva futuro.
2) “If + will” permitido em pedido educado
Exemplo:
If you will follow me, I’ll show you the maintenance log.
Pegadinha: achar que “if + will” é sempre errado. Aqui é polite request.
3) “Unless” ≠ “if not” em todos os contextos
Exemplo:
Unless the technician recalibrates it, the radar will fail.
Pegadinha: achar que sempre pode trocar por if not sem ajustar verbo.
4) “In case” ≠ “If”
Exemplo:
Take extra batteries in case the device stops working.
Pegadinha: aluno traduz como condicional, mas é precaution, não hipótese.
5) “Provided / Providing (that)” com sentido estrito
Exemplo:
You can start the procedure provided you have clearance.
Pegadinha: confundir com “if” genérico, mas aqui é condição indispensável.
6) “Suppose / Supposing” como abertura de hipóteses
Exemplo:
Suppose the aircraft loses communication, what happens?
Pegadinha: achar que é pergunta comum e não uma condicional invertida.
7) Condicional invertida com “should” (formal)
Exemplo:
Should any alarm activate, report immediately.
Pegadinha: aluno não percebe que é 1st conditional invertido.
8) Condicional invertida com “were” (2nd cond.)
Exemplo:
Were the weather better, the operation would be safer.
Pegadinha: aluno acha que “were” é erro porque falta “if”.
9) “If + past” ≠ passado real (é irreal)
Exemplo:
If he trained more, he would pass the exam.
Pegadinha: confundir com passado simples real.
10) Mistura de condicionais (mixed conditionals)
Exemplo:
If she had checked the panel, she would be flying now.
Pegadinha: aluno tenta aplicar uma condicional “pura”.
11) Condicional factual científica com presente
Exemplo:
If air expands, pressure decreases.
Pegadinha: achar que falta “will”.
12) “Even if” = condição extrema (não importa o caso)
Exemplo:
Even if the radio fails, the crew will continue the procedure.
Pegadinha: interpretar como hipótese leve.
13) “If only” como desejo forte (não condicional real)
Exemplo:
If only the visibility were better!
Pegadinha: achar que exige uma consequência depois.
14) “As long as” com sentido contratual
Exemplo:
You may operate the module as long as you follow the checklist.
Pegadinha: aluno troca por “while”.
15) “No matter what / who / when” – pseudo-condicionais
Exemplo:
No matter what happens, stay at your post.
Pegadinha: achar que precisa de estrutura if.
16) “If not for” + noun (condição irreal)
Exemplo:
If not for the alert system, the failure would go unnoticed.
Pegadinha: confundir com “unless”.
17) futuridade após “if” com verbo no presente
Exemplo:
If the technician arrives late, we’ll start without him.
Pegadinha: aluno quer futurizar o verbo do “if”.
18) Uso de modal perfeito no resultado
Exemplo:
If they had inspected it earlier, the issue might have been avoided.
Pegadinha: achar que só “would have” é permitido.
19) “If so / if not” resumido
Exemplo:
Check the fuel indicator. If not, contact maintenance.
Pegadinha: aluno pensa que falta verbo explícito.
20) Condicional implícita sem “if” (contextual)
Exemplo:
Follow protocol, and you’ll avoid penalties.
Pegadinha: aluno não vê que é equivalente a “If you follow protocol…”
