CONDITIONAL CLAUSES (or IF-CLAUSES)

❑ CONDITIONAL CLAUSES ou "IF CLAUSES".
➭ Tópico muito recorrente em questões de vestibulares e concursos públicos.
 CONDITIONAL CLAUSES são orações subordinadas condicionais iniciadas geralmente por IF  e expressam situações que podem ser possíveis, hipotéticas, irreais, prováveis de acontecer no presente ou no futuro ou que ainda expressam uma condição passada e que portanto, é impossível agora no presente.
- If you press the bottom, the machine starts to work! – Se você pressionar o fundo, a máquina começa a funcionar!
- If you eat too much, you'll be sick! – Se você comer demais, ficará doente!
If I had time, I would do that for you! – Se eu tivesse tempo, faria isso por você!
If we had stayed at home, we could have see him!  – Se tivéssemos ficado em casa, poderíamos tê-lo visto!

➭ No estudo das CONDITIONAL CLAUSES, temos que observar 02 (duas) partes dentro de uma sentença dada, veja:
- "If you don't go, I'll be alone!
*IF CLAUSE (oração condicional)(condição) → "If you don't go". 
*MAIN CLAUSE (oração principal)(resultado) → "I'll be alone!"

 TYPES OF CONDITIONAL CLAUSES:
Didaticamente, há 04(quatro) tipos de CONDITIONAL CLAUSES.
* Condicional TIPO ZERO
* Condicional TIPO 1
* Condicional TIPO 2
* Condicional TIPO 3
 Conditional Type ZERO(IF+Present, Present):
*Example:
"If you press the bottom, the machine starts to work!"
(Se você pressionar o fundo, a máquina começa a funcionar!)

 Conditional Type 1(IF+Present, Base Form+WILL)
*Example:
"If you eat too much, you'll be sick!"
(Se você comer demais, ficaras doente!")

5) Conditional Type 2(IF+Past,  WOULD + Base Form):
*Example:
"If I had time I would do that for you!"
(Se eu tivesse tempo, faria isso por você!)

6) Conditional Type 3(IF+Past Perfect, WOULD HAVE+Participle Past):
*Example:
"If we had stayed at home, we could have see him!"
(Se tivéssemos ficado em casa, poderíamos tê-lo visto!)

• NOTA IMPORTANTEQuando a oração começar com a conjunção if, devemos separá-la da próxima frase com a vírgula.
