In this post, we're talking about desert idioms.

1 - PIECE OF CAKE:

(01) "piece of cake" means that something is very very very easy.

(02) The game yesterday was a piece of cake.

(04) Learning to drive was a piece of cake for me.

(08) Rachel learned to ride a bike very fast. It was a piece of cake!

(16) And every task you undertake becomes a piece of cake.

2 - TO HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO:

(01) "have your cake and eat it too" means you can not have it both ways, you can't have your cake and still eat it, because if you eat, it is gone, you don't have it anymore.

(02) "have your cake and eat it too" relates to life by telling you that you can not have everything that you want. 

(04) He works so hard to pay for that fancy house of his that he never has any time to stay home and enjoy it. Yeah, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

(08) We can never get them both to work at the same time.

3 - THE ICING ON THE CAKE:

(01) "the icing on the cake" means something that makes something good even better or something bad even worse.

(02) "the icing on the cake" means an additional benefit to something which is already good.

(04) Getting a car as a present at 18 was awesome; getting a Porsche was the icing on the cake.

4 - TO SUGARCOAT:

(01) "to sugarcoat" means to make it look better than it is.

(02) "to sugarcoat" means to say the truth in a manner where it doesn't actually sound that bad.

(04) "to sugarcoat" means truthfully manipulate a fact to make it sound less harsh and/or worse than the straight truth.

(08) You don't have to sugarcoat it. I get the drill.

5 - EASY AS APPLE PIE:

(01) "easy as apple pie" means is that something is really, really, really easy.

(02) Even a child could do that. It is "easy as apple pie".

6 - FLAT AS A PANCAKE:

(01) "flat as a pancake" means to be very flat.

7 - NUTTY AS A FRUITCAKE:

(01) "nutty as a fruitcake" means completely insane, very eccentric.

(02) That girl is as nutty as a fruitcake.

8 - THAT'S THE WAY THE COOKIE CRUMBLES:

(01) "that's the way the cookie crumbles" means that's how life works.

(02) That's just the way it goes.

9 - TO SELL LIKE HOTCAKES:

(01) "to sell like hotcakes" means that something sells very well.

(02)  Every time a new iPhone comes out, they sell like hotcakes.

(03) "selling like hotcakes" describes an item that sells really fast.

10 - TO HAVE AS SWEET TOOTH:

(01) "have a sweet tooth" means like to eat desserts.
